Methods for creating dramatic light with reflectors, diffusers and off-camera flash are examined. The essence of this workshop is about developing a unique concept of the subject and then utilizing a solid grasp of the technical aspects of photography to capture that vision.

This class explores the essential connection that occurs between photographer and subject to create an intimate, compelling portrait. Techniques for approaching and working with a subject are developed as we explore both candid and formal portraiture. Methods for creating dramatic light with reflectors, diffusers and off-camera flash are examined. The essence of this workshop is about developing a unique concept of the subject and then utilizing a solid grasp of the technical aspects of photography to capture that vision. Daily field sessions to practice newly learned techniques follow morning critiques and lectures.
